Our 2017 Christmas lunch was enjoyed by members, wives and friends. Twenty-two people came along for an enjoyable lunch on Wednesday 13th December, organised by John Harding. The toast was given by Vice-President George Graham.
Members, wives and friends enjoyed a day out to the West Somerset Railway. We joined a reserved coach on the ‘Dunster Castle Express’ for a trip through the Somerset countryside on a beautiful sunny day.
Whilst some elected to alight at Dunster for a walk to the famous castle, the remainder continued to Minehead for lunch and a walk through the town.
Our next outing is a tour around Palmer’s Brewery at Bridport in May.
Seaton Probus members and some wives were treated to a tour around the Seaton Tram Depot and workshops. Our highly experienced guide, Inspector Gareth Richards, gave a detailed description of the work done throughout the year as well as giving us a history of some of the trams.
This was followed by a return trip to Colyford on their newest tram: Car 15, formerly Car 17 and now painted in the blue and cream livery of the Isle of Man.
